Our 1st WISB event this year will be launching 2major funds specifically for women; the funds are not coming from any of the banks. if you have been at our programs, you know SMEDAN told us these Funds are available and here we are finally presenting them – Please Do Not Miss the next WISB!

An interest free fund to support Women in SME, financed by a Nigerian business man. This will give you short term loans with NO INTEREST
A fund with interest rates BUT no questions, no collateral specifically for women. This will give you loans, with interest but NO LONG QUESTIONING & No Collateral Required.

FSD Smart Kids Project Opens a Library / Reading Centre in Oshodi

It happened again!!! Thank you to all our partners – you made this happen to these less priviledged children in the heart of Oshodi, lagos sate; where 5schools smiled away on the 14th December with books and one library + 2 other reading centres.

FSD donated a fully furnished, computerised, internet ready library to a school in Oshodi; also opened reading centres in two other schools in the sameneighbourhood and donated books to two additional schools – making 5 outreach posts in one day.

On the 14th December 2011, FSD declared open the library at Oshodi Comprehensive Junior High School with 1673books – textbooks, classic novels, soft literature, journals and charts.

The same day FSD donated over 550 books EACH to open 2 other reading centres in Bolade Senior High School and Army Cantonment Senior High School, Oshodi.

At the same event FSD donated 250 notebooks, 100 textbooks and other educational materials including charts to EACH of Unity Junior High School and Ideal Primary School in Oshodi.

The library at Oshodi Comprehensive Junior High School, Oshodi was declared open by Mr Peter Pines of the USA Embassy, Nigeria.

FSD Dedicated this particular library to the IVLP Project; because she grew the idea from her 1st IVLP exposure in 2006.

FSD moves Its Headquarters

WISB June 2011 – The Eye Opener for MSME Owners

On the 16th June 2011, FSD held another edition of Women in MSME training.

Held at the Muson Centre; our Guest Speaker was Father Godfrey Nzamujo – Founder Songhai Institutes.

Keynote Address was given by Dr. Robin Renee Sanders (former USA Ambassador to Nigeria) and we had SMEDAN, Bank of Industry, Nigeria Export Promotion Council, Diamond Bank and Skye Bank…….all telling us ‘How their organizations can help us grow our businesses’.
We taught the audience new business ideas – Waste Management and How to utilize the resources of the Cisco Entrepreneurship Institute.

The reviews were awesome, the evaluation was great and we brought all of these wonderful experienced speakers to train the MSME owners for just N2500.

FSD takes MSME Owners on an Excursion to Songhai

On the 8th July 2011, the Executive Director of FSD took 2o other MSME (7male and 13female) owners on a 3day excursion to Songhai.

The trip was to visualize agriculture in a new world…..see that it is still a profitable venture.

Thanks to the FSD/Songhai partnership; the trip was low priced, affordable, enlightening and we had a training thrown in for us.
